Local Ethos

Built to belong to the hillside, not sit on top of it

Every choice at Himtattva starts with a simple question: does this belong in Hartola? The cottages are built the traditional Kumaoni way — local stone, slate roofs, timber windows — using techniques and materials sourced from the region rather than shipped in.

That same thinking extends to how the property runs day to day: local staff, local produce, local craftsmanship, and a pace of life that follows the village rather than a hotel brand's playbook.

More on our local sourcing, materials and everyday practices will be added here — this page is a placeholder for that fuller story.
